Is Getting Drunk a Serious Sin?

In our society, drunkenness seems to be widely tolerated, provided that the person who is drunk is thought to not be a danger to other people and/or, perhaps, to himself (or herself).  This raises the question as to whether or not getting drunk is a serious sin, especially for Christians, even if no one […]

Is God Always Faithful?

If God is always faithful, why do so many people, including a lot of those who are faithful to Him, suffer from all kinds of hardships and/or tragedies?

Before attempting to answer this question, we want to emphasize that God does not usually cause serious adversities to occur.  One conspicuous exception was the worldwide flood […]

Is Nature Synonymous with God?

Many people believe that the universe, including all forms of life, was created by a Supreme Being who is generally referred to as God.  However, many other people believe that the universe, including all forms of life, came into existence as a result of a completely random universal force they might refer to as […]

Is God Omnipresent?

Scientific evidence suggests that the universe is immense beyond the comprehension of most humans.  So, is there reason to believe that God is – or can be – present everywhere throughout the universe at the same time (i.e., omnipresent)?  To answer this question, we will focus on what the Bible says about where God […]

How Can People Really Know What Is Right and What Is Wrong?

So, if humans do not agree as to […]

Some people believe that the Ark of the Covenant (also referred to as the Ark of God), which God instructed Moses to build (see Exodus 25:10-22), had mystical powers, but is such a belief supported by accounts that are recorded in the Bible?  To assess the merit of this belief, we will examine several […]

Discrepancies Regarding Various Incidents in Christ’s Life

In the four Gospels (i.e., Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), there seem to be discrepancies in the recording of various incidents in the life of Jesus Christ.  We will address several of these incidents under two primary categories: healing incidents and other incidents.

Healing Incidents

The four Gospels record a number of incidents of healings by […]

Does God Punish Innocent People?

Does the Bible indicate that a person is not guilty of sin if they do something wrong, but they do not know that it is wrong (i.e., if they sin unintentionally)?  Isn’t a person innocent in such circumstances and, therefore, does not need to be concerned about being punished by God?

Perhaps surprisingly, the answer […]
